Fabergé and The Big Egg Hunt of New York is in effect starting now, so if you live or visit NYC in the next week, keep on the lookout for one of the fabulous large egg sculptures placed all throughout the city. Placed throughout the five boroughs with 260 total egg sculptures in circulation, featuring artists such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Carolina Herrera, Zaha Hadid, Jeff Koons, Bruce Weber, and more. Use the egg app to “check in” when you see one, and thus be entered to win fab Fabergé prizes, such as the three egg pendant necklaces up for grabs. I stopped by the store and got to try one on (see above); doesn’t it just look fabulous?
If you miss the hunt, check out the eggs, at about 2.5 feet tall each, on display at Rockefeller Center from April 18th-25th, which will then be auctioned off by Sotheby’s, with all of the funds going the charities of Elephant Family and Studio in a School. I went to the store and was luck to have the opportunity to try on one of the precious gemstone pendants. which has 435 white diamonds (2.30 carats) and 42 Zambian emeralds (4.30 carats), with a retail value of $48,000!! Then, on my walk back to the office, I spontaneously spotted one of the eggs!
