I had taken a break from covering the bridal market due to how incredibly overwhelmed I had been with my own nuptials, but decided to come out of hibernation only for Bhldn! The Spring 2015 bridal trends certainly work in Grecian draping and embroidery to perfection, in a variety of styles that include strapless, caped, draped, cap-sleeved, and more. From vintage-inspired to decidedly modern, there are great well-curated options for every kind of bride, venue, and ambiance. Some of my favorite were the Catherine Deane gowns that Bhldn carries (look at the detailing on the back of this one!), but I also couldn’t resist some of the gorgeous accessories, ranging from delicate evening bags to heels, sashes, hair adornments, and a plethora of sparkly crystal jewelry.
There’s no better way to test out activewear than by actually breaking a sweat in them, so courtesy of Athleta, I perused a sneak peek at the spring 2015 collection while working out in a Bari Studio Bari Bounce class (a low-impact trampoline cardio class) in some of the brand’s newest pieces. Needless to say, they passed the test with flying colors, and speaking of, check out a few of the gorgeous prints, pictured above, as part of Athleta’s spring lineup! You’ll find some incredible prints in a mix of space age, retro 90s, and super modern designs, along with additional bra selections this season, some great workout pieces in a cool shade of mint, and that ever classic, personal favorite — the fantastic City Pant! Expect new two and one-piece swim options (my favorite, here), along with shorts to be worn casually or in a work out setting, and a versatile romper to wear over your swimwear or solo as a stylish all-in-one garment.
When you start out with a footbed this intricate, you know that you’re going to get a pretty amazing fit. Rykä, which has been dedicated to women’s fitness footwear and apparel for the past 25 years, includes thoughtful design elements such as an extra cushy, arch supported insole, as well as super important outer properties that include water, stain, and slip-resistance; essential when you’re getting exercise outdoors. Fitting a variety of needs, shoes come under the categories of training, running, walking, or lifestyle. See here for a few of the preview styles for spring 2015, and at the brand’s website for the current apparel offerings.
Have you ever been to a CAbi show? I recently attended my first, thanks to my friends Audrey, Vera, and Nicole, in which a consultant for the brand showcases coordinated groupings of looks for the attendees to try on, and if they like, purchase in a direct selling format. CAbi (Carol Anderson by invitation) pieces ranged from career to casual, with small details enhancing basics or camouflaging areas that may call for some concealment. On trend in the latest colors and silhouettes, I found that as I learned about each individual piece and its multifunctional capabilities, I liked it more and more! If you’re interested in seeing a show or making a purchase, head here to be connected with a consultant in your area.
As a sidenote, I’m off in a few hours to High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina, the premiere (and largest) furnishings industry trade show in the world, with over 2000 exhibitors and products on display in the thousands. I’m thriled to glean as much knowledge and inspiration as possible from this event, and look forward to sharing it with you while I’m there via the hashtag #HPMkt on my Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram pages, and check out its website for more details!
