It’s been quite a week, so I’m switching things up and sending the Fashion Pulse Flash your way today. Perfect timing, actually, to share some exciting sale and new product news with you!
How exciting! The Shopbop sale is happening…now (it ends at Midnight Friday, October 14th, Pacific Time)!!! The savings are pretty great this time around with savings up to 30%, depending on how much you spend. I took advantage of the sale to do a little pre-holiday shopping, and now I am reveling in the money saved, and checking a few names off of my gift list. Use code “MAINEVENT16” at both Shopbop.com and EastDane.com, and see here for the brand exclusions. Happy Shopping!
Skin has all of the delicate fragility of a rose petal, and strives to be as smooth and soft as one. With the right razor, you can balance and achieve the fine lines on which these parameters reside, or, with the wrong razor, come out on the side of knicked, bumped, and irritated. With already sensitive skin, I’m predisposed to having a miserable shaving experience, and my only defense tends to be shaving less frequently (ew). In testing the Bic Soleil Shine this week, I’ve learned that a razor, especially a disposable one, need not be equated with discomfort. It comes down to the quality of the product and thoughtfulness of design, and this one features five blades, a moisture strip with aloe and cocoa butter, a pivoting head, and rubber grip handle and base. It’s basically just a really nice razor, and comes in a convenient two-pack so you’ve always got one on back-up.The BIC Soleil Shine retails for $6.99 at most mass merchandise, drug, and grocery stores nationwide (like Target), as well as online.
I remember my first bottle of Hard Candy nail polish fondly; a pastel shade of blue, adorned with a matching rubber ring, and I am pretty sure I picked it up at my favorite store of the time (early ’90s) – Urban Outfitters. Since then, I’ve gone on to use literally hundreds of nail polishes and beauty items, and I must admit: I hadn’t stayed up-to-date with the latest from the brand. Recently coming to my attention was an array of products from Hard Candy, ranging from eyes to lips, cosmetic bags to foundation, concealer, and bronzer. I’ve been digging its Blooming Lip Oil in Zen Strawberry, which includes over 10 essential oils, and goes on clear but then begins to pigment, based on your lips’ pH to evolve into a custom hue. I’ve also been enjoying the innovative Lip Primer Duo, which can extend wear and add a glossy finish in one dual-ended product, and the Fast & Fabulous Makeup Setting Spray to lengthen the life of your makeup look, which for me, never ever makes it through a full work day! All of the Hard Candy beauty products can be picked up for just $6 each starting now, at Wal-Mart.
Everyone in my family uses emojis in texts, from my 13-year-old cousins to my 75-year-old aunts, and I imagine you’ve experienced the adorable wide spread use of the little icons in your message-based conversations as well. Now for you beauty lovers out there: you can communicate with friend and family via this free, custom “SEPHOJIS” from Sephora, via the downloadable SEPHOJIS app via iTunes or Google Play. Select your skin tone and hair color from the available options, or stop by Sephora for a complimentary mini makeover to acquire your Color IQ number to plug in instead. It’s quite a bit of fun to play around with “bad hair day” or “crying mascara girl,” to get your point across; the image above features my customized SEPHOJIS.
