A Saks OFF 5TH location JUST opened up dangerously close to home…and I love it! Last week the best friend and I stopped by the space formerly used by legendary (and no longer) discounter Daffy’s, a subterranean cove revamped and stocked with luxury merchandise, ranging from gorgeous Alexis Bittar baubles to Hermès leather handbags, DVF silk dresses, and Versace sneakers. The shoe section was to-die-for, and the men’s assortment had great depth and breadth to it, along with being beyond well-organized. Of course the merchandise mix will always change, but now you can look forward to the special feature of Saks OFF 5TH locations offering a Gilt.com shop-in-shop, which will feature a weekly in-store flash sale every Wednesday at 12pm, EST. Plus, Saks OFF 5TH will accept Gilt returns in exchange for Saks OFF 5TH merchandise credit. I love the merging of an online favorite with a tremendous brick-and-mortar, on-brand, collab! If you’re in the area, stop by the store to experience the joy of discovering a coveted brand at a discounted price!
Saks OFF 5TH, 57th is located at 125 East 57th Street, between Lexington and Park Avenues in New York City; see website for store hours.
I feel that I’m permanently on the quest for hair care that can effectively gives me the volume that I wasn’t born with, but certainly desire. I had heard great things about evo hair, and finally gave it a test run via its Gluttony Volume Shampoo ($24), Pride of Gluttony Volume Conditioner ($24), and Root Canal Volumising Spray ($25). With these products, I get the volume and colored hair protection, in a sulphate-free formula that includes proteins and polymers for out-of-this-world volume. I love the straightforward packaging and witty slogan use on the bottles, but overall, it does what it’s supposed to do, and what could be better than a product delivering on its promise? Shop evo hair at a retailer near you or through the brand’s website.
Has the streak of warmer weather lifted your spirits as it has mine, sending you in a direction of absolute hopefulness for the spring? Maybe it’s time for a little spring cleaning at home to get in the mood, along with an addition of a seasonal décor item or two. At a recent event with T.J.Maxx and Marshalls, I spotted some adorable Easter, Mother’s Day, and general spring-oriented merchandise, ranging from bunny salt and pepper shakers to pastel-hued egg holders, baskets, bowels, napkins and faux desktop plants that add a touch of color and whimsy to your home entertaining items. A favorite of mine was this Easter plate set, which can’t help but put a smile on your guest’s face. Shop Marshalls’ items in-store, and both in-store and online for T.J.Maxx.
As previously mentioned, my hair is fine (and straight) without any mercy, however I live in constant hair envy, since Fashion Pulse hubby has the most perfect curly locks. For those of you blessed with this hair type texture, Garnier Fructis has a handful of new products to help your curls achieve their full potential. The new curl collection features a Curl Nourish trio of shampoo, conditioner, and butter cream to help curls define and shine, but my two favorites are the Curl Renew Reactivating Milk Spray ($4.29) Curl Stretch Loosening Hair Pudding (also $4.29). The Milk Spray adds some nutrition and bounce, thanks to a touch of coconut oil, while com batting frizz, and the pudding also adds in some moisture while lengthening out tighter curls. If your tresses naturally go in a curl direction, you may want to pick up one of these affordable Garnier items, all under $6 each (all are available now at mass market retailers and e-commerce outlets nationwide).
