Would you like a dash of dessert with your lip treatment? Vaseline just added a new option into its Lip Therapy line with its Creme Brulee scent,
a trace of sweet vanilla incorporated into its 100% pure, triple-purified Vaseline Jelly to soften your puckers and lock in the moisture. You can find the scent at food, drug, and mass retailers nationwide for $2.29, or you can up the sparkle game with the crystal adorned mini jar version (pictured at left), available for a limited time at $45, found at Kitson boutiques and online at ShopKitson.com.
True, coconut is having a moment right now, but it’s way more than just a popular dietary and beauty item; it’s really quite awesome for you! Coconut is incredibly nourishing and hydrating for the body, inside and out, so using these pure coconut milk soaps (86% pure, to be exact), will keep your skin moisturized all throughout the colder months that are surely coming very soon. Kiss My Face has launched with two options, the Pure Coconut Milk Soap and the Pure Coconut Milk Soap with Lime Peel, depending on how zesty, or original you’d like to keep your scent. They are of course all natural, and paraben and cruelty free, so go ahead and feel good rubbing it all over your body! A 5 oz bar of soap retails for $3.99, and is available at Amazon.co, Kissmyface.com, Whole Foods, and supermarkets nationwide.
I spent an afternoon with great products and fantastic people this weekthanks to Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day, in which I became more familiar with the brand’s categories and scents. Making sure your cleaning products smell lovely, are effective, and most importantly, safe, is quite essential, and Mrs. Meyers is a brand that can certainly be trusted. You may have been attracted to the brand based on its eye-catching good design and packaging that is display-worthy, however I’m fairly sure you’ll dig the garden fresh scents which include Lavender, Lemon Verbena, Basil, Geranium.
For holiday, you can also get the limited edition AWESOME scents of cranberry, Iowa pine, and Orange Clove, which I’ve been told are truly cult favorites, with people stocking up on them to use beyond the holidays! From the laundry detergents to the handsoaps and soy candles, all of the products are earth-friendly, cruelty-free and not tested on animals. For the holidays, I’m thinking that they can make really nice hostess gifts with the addition of a tea towel or bottle of bubbly.
I also met Grace Bonney (Design Sponge Founder) and Paul Lowe Einlyng (Sweet Paul Magazine), who were so gracious, lovely, and teaming with creativity to enhance your home with small little projects that you can do yourself! Check out their websites for inspiration, with some of my favorites being this DIY Design Cutting Board and DIY Snow Globes in a Jam Jar!
Fashion and beauty will forever be intertwined, reinforced with the #NanetteForOrigins limited edition holiday collaboration, in which fashion designer Nanette Lepore has created a cosmetic bag for Origins. Inspired by an Indian blanket design, the bag will in turn inspire you to head to Kayak.com and book an exotic vacation, be it at a resort or roughing it, ASAP, in which your favorite beauty essentials can come along, tucked safely inside this cotton bag. Spend $65 on the brand’s products at Origins.com or at a department store, and it’s all yours!
The Korean multi-tasking beauty brand Dr JART+ is celebrating its 10th anniversary stateside with a pop-up shop at Openhouse Gallery in NYC’s Nolita neighborhood (201 Mulberry Street). Now through Sunday, 11/16, you can get the full, immersive experience with the brand that pretty much put BB Cream on the map. I stopped by for the launch party with fellow members of the media and celebrities to check out the K-Beauty Consultations and receive some skin care samples, as well as view the art installations in the space. Products of note that you definitely won’t want to miss include the Pore Medic line of pore minimizers, the Water Fuse line, Premium BB Beauty Balm, and an awesome array of face masks.
Of course it makes sense to have the tools that the experts do; when my stylist used a Mason Pearson brush on my hair I had to get one; when a makeup artist used a brush to apply foundation, that was next up for me, and now, the tweezers that are used in the Uni K Wax Centers are available for purchase! Uni K High Precision Tweezers went through a brutal tweezing test over here at FPD, and came out…unscathed! Choose from a variety of shades and pick one up at one of the locations or at UniKWax.com.
