I’m embarrassed to admit how behind we got over here at FPD with the London, Milan, and Paris shows, as it took literally weeks to instill a normalcy again to our schedules after New York Fashion Week. Nonetheless, here are two of our favorite looks from the top collections of the season.

Alexander McQueen- a collection inspired by an Ice Queen – just utterly beautiful. Love the mosaic bodice; made of actual glass pieces!
Balenciaga — never disappoints. This collection defines new shapes, and look at the floor paneling compared the the shoe lines and clothing silhouettes; it is a perfect cohesion!

Barbara Bui – the ultimate in tough chic, her tees and coats are unmistakable — and worth every penny!
Balmain -you redeemed yourself from last season. This collection is AMAZING! Way to soften a signature in refreshing new colors and textures!
D&G – after this collection, please don’t let the rumors be true that you may be going away. Your casual sexiness from this collection will be on my mind come fall 2011.
Chloé – way to bump up the edge factor! Well done; you made exotic animal print soft and feminine – brava!
Chanel – A dark collection, literally rising from the ashes (see background). If Karl Lagerfeld says jackets over jackets (but one piece) and pants are it for fall, they are “it” for fall!
Emporio Armani – you can’t deny the slightly subversive dominatrix theme working here, along with a bit 1940s Eastern European in the mix.
Haider Ackermann-the darling of fashion at the moment, went silky, sculptural, and subversive with his long lengths, open spaces, and geometric draping.
Jaeger London– LOVE! Everything is made so well, is so versatile, and just overall beautiful, wearable pieces for many seasons to come.
Miu Miu – An obvious nod to the 1940s produced a broader, assertive silhouette for the girl who likes to look pretty, in charge, and a bit tongue-in-cheek.
Louis Vuitton – with models arriving via elevator to the grand stage built for the show, the large line-up of looks were in a predominantly black palette perfectly accessorized and accentuated by exaggerated jodhpur pant shapes and hot pants.
Lanvin – The puff, the knits, the dresses – oh my! Elbaz continues his reign as a “can do no wrong” fashion week favorite.
Issa London- a favorite of Kate Middleton, and we can see why; the details, the cuts, and the prints are complimentary and meant for a real woman, heck, and equally as fit for a modern Princess.
