The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign distributes millions of pink ribbons and illuminates hundreds of landmarks in pink lights annually drawing attention to the issue. This year the campaign is being led by Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley.

Estee Lauder’s Pink Ribbon Collection is designed to help raise awareness, but does not affect their overall donation of $500,000 to BCRF. Or, you can select your donation amount, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Don your pink ribbon wristlet to raise awareness and fund research. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the skincare experts at Mama Mio have two separate initiatives during the month of October 2011.

Urban Outfitters recently debuted its first ever bridal collection, entitled BHLDN this past Valentine’s Day.  The brand will showcase wedding gowns, bridesmaid and party dresses, vintage-inspired jewelry, headpieces, shoes, and even lingerie.  Most wedding retailers offer only the typical “matchy matchy” bridesmaid options and standard white gown, however, Urban Outfitters dresses will promise to be timeless, less cliché, and will be offered in fun floral prints keeping with the heirloom feel of the brand.  With prices ranging from $1000-$4000 dollars for wedding gowns and $200-$600 dollars for party attire, dresses will be on par with avearge prices in the category.

By encompassing their vintage style and creating a unique line of wedding attire, Urban Outfitters is not only broadening but holding on to its current consumer market as they move through life experiences.  Bridal and Urban Outfitters, could indeed a match made in indie heaven.

I really really liked this style of shoe – thinking it was urban-safari chic! The dark color palette caught my eye, and I liked the idea of these looking like the toe tips of the boot got cut off. Luckily, these Dolce Vita boots were on sale for only $19.99 at Urban Outfitters (originally about $68),  have  only been worn twice, and are still in need of some further ‘breaking in’ time (the leather at the toe line is a bit too stiff for my liking). When I wear these, for some reason it reminds me of the forest scenes from the Empire Strikes Back –  maybe it’s because I’m somewhat pint-size, but I definitely feel an Ewok vibe when I wear them!

As a multi-tasker, I love finding pieces that allow me to stay comfortable (especially in the sweltering late-summer heat!) and add a little something stylish to my casual-cool wardrobe (yes, you could say I like having my cake and eating it too when it comes to fashion). • Don’t pack three suitcases and a duffel bag for a week long vacation. Even if you were Victoria Beckham and Anna Wintour’s spawn fashion baby you could not squeeze that many wardrobe changes into a day, so travel light. Bring only what you know you will wear and pack it into a stylish suitcase like this Croc Cabin Suitcase by Jasper Conran at Tripp, $107.63. Your luggage will be your traveling home while on vacation so shop for one that matches your personality. Find a suitcase that you really like such as this J.Crew Globe-Trotter Suitcase because for the amount of time you’ll be lugging it around in the airport and train station, you better love it!

• Wrap your pocket book around your body. And no readers, I am not suggesting a fanny pack or belly bag! I suggest while visiting any extremely touristic place like the Eiffel Tower or Disney Land, ditch the hobo bag and strap on a satchel bag similar to this Quilted Crossbody Bag by Express, $34.90. My recommendation comes from a lesson learned in the Roman metros of Italy. While riding the metro, some gypsy woman thought it was a good idea to try and pickpocket me and my zipper shut bag. Luckily I have the cat-like reflexes of Naomi Campbell and took care of my assailant (minus any phone throwing, I could never pelt a gypsy with my Blackberry). But I was shocked by how little protection a zipper can provide, so I bought myself a bag like Marc by Marc Jacobs Crossbody Bag, $268, and wore it backwards so the closure faced in on my body, and ever since, no Italian muggings!

• Wear comfortable shoes. You never know where you’re going to end up while traveling so a versatile, all-weather shoe comes in great handy. If you’re a girl like me who only wears sneakers to the gym, try on a pair of oxford flats like Giraudon’s Almond-Toe-Oxford. This kind of shoe is very walkable because of the slight heel which nixes any lower back or arch pain that you might feel from wearing flats for too long, and they can be worn with anything. Take this Urban Outfitters Classic Oxford Flat, $58, that can be styled with a shirt and jeans or a dress.

• Pack a pair of sunglasses. Rain or shine sunglasses are a necessity in any travel circumstance. Of course while tanning on the beaches of Mexico a pair of Vintage Emmanuelle Khanh Oversized Sunglasses, $183.44, are a no-brainer, but sunglasses are also functional accessories during a lay-over or a long train ride. Sunglasses can provide the allusion of haughty alertness while indoors if you’re asleep to ward off undesirables. As long as you keep the snoring and drooling to a minimum, sunglasses can be very useful.

We’ve been really into the whole biker chic motif lately, so it seemed quire apropos to feature a fashion pulse stylist write-up on the look. Let’s start with the essential biker jacket: we discovered a quilted version of the classic with this  Croft & Barrow Quilted Biker Jacket ($26.99, Kohl’s). The quilted fabric adds a touch of feminity to the hardcore look. We also thought this Rampage Sleeveless Zipper Front Motorcycle Jacket, ($54, Rampage) could add a fashion-forward interpretation, as well as softening the look up with a bit of fleece opposed to leather.  Layer underneath of the jacket with the Destroyed Tee ($35, AlternativeApparel.com) or the Burnout Deep V-neck w/Pocket ($38, also AlternativeApparel.com).
