As much as I’d love to jump onboard with all the 2012 Olympics excitement… the truth is, I’ve never really been that into the Olympics. Maybe it’s because there are just too many events to keep track of, maybe it’s because it gets in the way of all my favorite summer reality shows… or maybe it just conjures up bad memories of my own failed gymnastics dreams. In any case, if there’s one thing (besides chiseled swimmers’ abs) that can get me excited about all the sportsmanship and festivities, it’s Butter London’s limited-edition nail trio! The Olympics Heavy Medal nail lacquer trio is just about the most adorable idea ever, in equally adorable packaging. Three shiny metallic shades in the games’ signature Gold, Silver, and Bronze make for a perfect festive set to help you get in the competitive mood!
And at $36, it’s a steal you won’t want to have to wait another four years for!

Are you feeling a little ‘meh’ towards your wardrobe lately? Don’t fret – an entire new wardrobe isn’t the only answer, and your wallet doesn’t necessarily have to suffer in order to instill a little excitement into a seasonal style that’s going downhill. You’d be surprised at how much a simple accessory like a bright belt can add all-new structure, color, and style to an otherwise ‘blah’ old outfit! A skinny belt helps provide flattering shape in a way that doesn’t overpower your entire ensemble, but instead breathes new life into it – adding a fun dash of color that you can use to tie in coordinating accessories like shoes, bags, and even matching nail polish. From shiny neon patent to studs, bows, and textured calf-hair or braided rope styles, the possibilities are nearly endless, depending on the look you’re going for! Either way, you’ll be pleased at how much a belt can change your look – it’s a cinch!

The whole “fit-and-flared” trend that took summer sundresses by storm is starting to branch out to invade everything from our tops, skirts, and jackets to boot! Peplum has always been a rather tricky shape to pull off – How much flare is too flared? How do I choose a shape that still flatters my own proportions? – but these peplum tanks make mastering the trend a cinch! Add an instant dose of girliness to an otherwise tomboy-chic ensemble by pairing one of these chic tanks with some tailored shorts and a cropped blazer, or rock with your favorite pair of colored or coated jeans. Easy-peasy! Not only does it help cinch in your waist to enhance your figure (and provide extra wiggle room if you’ve gone a little too overboard with all that yummy summer party food!), but the skirted style also adds effortless chicness in a way that’s still comfortable!

Move over, Naked Palette – the British are coming! From America’s Next Top Model’s ‘British Invasion’ cycle and the world’s obsession with Downton Abbey to the never-ending influx of on-air talent from acrossthe pond, it was only a matter of time before the Brits got into our makeup stash. POP Beauty’s adorably union-jacked Brit Pop palette (available at Nordies!) contains 12 universally-flattering neutral shades, ranging from softly shimmery to sultry and smokey, and gives Urban Decay’s own natural-hued palette a run for its money. I mean… a mere $10 as opposed to the Naked Palette‘s hefty $50 price tag is a hard bargain to argue with, plus POP’s British-infused packaging is equally slim and portable, but just slightly more adorable (in my humble opinion)! Including both matte andglitter-infused shades, you don’t have to know The Parliamentary Oath in order to pledge your allegiance to these fabulously festive colors!
