The Show: Susan Woo
The Theme: Crisp and clean colors & cuts
The Inspiration: Woo focused on a fairytale and romantic aesthetic
The Color Palette: Black and white, navy, purple, and maroon
The Signature, Standout Look: For the Fall/Winter 2013 collection, expect Woo’s use of all-organic materials; everything from silk button downs to wool twill wrap jackets. When creating this collection, Woo obviously thought about very romantic designs, however there is also a bit of edge seen in all of these pieces with leather trimmings, and mesh cut-out details. Woo wanted to reiterate to women that they can be both sexy and strong, yet edgy, which the designer accomplishes quite perfectly.

Susan Woo‘s work is described as eco-friendly fashion for New York women, so obviously I felt a kinship to her and to her clothing. Her designs are basic and chic as hell and I feel like she really did get New York women in a nutshell. Sure, there are days where we like to be all bohemian and wild or whatever, but there is something to be said for the straight lines and structured sophistication that her designs have to offer.
Her fabrics are 100% eco-friendly and sourced from companies who also care about the environment, so double-awesome-whammy. Her fall collection, the one you’re looking at, is made from organic wools, cotton and cashmeres, just so ya know.
