Black and white is by no means blasé, but by adding in several shades of purple, this look gets kicked up quite a few fabulous notches. Inspired by the most recent Sorrelli collection, dubbed African Violet, and the flower itself, I’m exploring the multidimensional colors of this perennial flowering plant and the new jewelry collection in one fell swoop. Being inspired by a flower but not necessarily using floral imagery can be a tricky thing, and I pretty much pulled my favorite purple-y things to comprise this look. The jewelry of course anchored the outfit, but the orchestrated involvement of bluish purple to mauve and blushy pink tones made it my own. I was largely inspired by the marbled stones in the necklace, incorporating a collage of colors that look like a purple version of turquoise or jade, two of my most supremely beloved, life-long love affair stones.
