I was recently given a set of Alex and Ani bangles as a gift, and although I had heard about the brand, I wasn’t privy to their design philosophy and eco-conscious aspect of the jewelry. Each item is handcrafted from recycled materials, in particular metal, and having all products made in the USA, having a bag and t-shirt line myself, I’ve really strove to promote buy local, even when I know that having things done overseas would save me a tremendous amount of money. Besides thinking the aforementioned aspects are pretty cool, Alex & Ani has a patentd expandable technology that they use in their jewelry which allows bracelets, necklaces, rings and even earrings to slide seamlessly on a wire to achieve a customized fit. Indeed, I was impressed when I tried the expandable fit via my new bracelets, since at first glance, they looked miniscule!
