Fashion on the Slopes

by fashion pulse contributor

The North Face‘s  Skinster Pants , $199, and Columbia’s McQueen Boots, $140

It’s been an extremely mild winter thus far, but we are holding out hope for some fun snow days, and wintery fashion, ahead. What’s more fun than hitting the slopes with friends and family?! We have the answer: hitting the slopes in style.

There are currently so many options for fashionable winter gear- whether you’re skiing, snowboarding, or falling down repeatedly, take a moment to be chic in the natural surroundings.

The North Face Pants, pictured above: They’re like skinny jeans for skiing, in a tough charcoal grey that are waterproof and breathable, while the Columbia McQueen Boots feature waterproof suede, lined with fleece, Omni-Heat insulation and thermal reflective technology. Look aprés ski ready in both of these items!

Hot Chilly’s Women’s Micro-Elite Chamois Midweight Stirrup Bottom, $55

Clever name, high functionality. These stirrup leggings are a win-win.

The North Face Women’s Greta Down Jacket, $299

This puffy coat screams snow bunny! And there’s nothing hotter than winter white.

Patagonia Women’s Capilene 3 Midweight Baselayer Crew in Magenta, $49

Try this basic crew neck for essential layering. It’s warm and durable in a gorgeous magenta hue.

Forever 21 Pom Pom Knit Gloves, $7.50

These gloves simply can’t be beat. Pom-poms and a pinky mauve knit hue make for cozy, very affordable, fashion.
The North Face Ear Gear, $20

Hat hair be gone! Headbands are such a hot accessory for winter sports, and this one will look sporty and sleek with EVERYTHING.

Ray Ban RB4163 Sunglasses, $140

Shades aren’t only for summer. Winter snow can be blinding too. Try a classic, yet subtly rounded cat eye shape for an extra glam factor.

Forever 21 Two Tone Purl Knit Scary, $8.99

Finish off your look with a cute, chunky scarf. You can wear it out later too!

Always get the most out of your ensemble, and use that chairlift as your runway!

Luxottica Eyewear for Spring 2011

by fashionpulse

After a whirlwind tour of the Luxottica Eyewear Group’s spring preview, we’re really looking forward to some bright, sunny days to show off these snazzy specs. We chose to highlight some of our faves, from best celeb collaboration to the must-haves.

Best New-found Minimalism – Versace

Never demure, never tame, Versace seems to have turned the volume down a notch on their eyewear, and we must say, we like it. While the Medusa head is still in full effect on the temples, the logo is a bit smaller than usual and fits right in with the muted tone of the oversize shades and the understated cat-eye. Perhaps to compliment their head turning looks, we are sure!

Most Stylish Outdoor Activity Shades- Prada

Why wait for the beach when you can hit the slopes in style? With their durable and athletic wire framing, Prada is perfect for when you want to combine luxury and sports. The flexible arms bend to accommodate impact, so throw them in the pocket of your ski jacket and go.

Best Union of Eyewear and Jewelry – Tiffany & Co.

By adorning the arms of their eyewear with jewelry designs like the Keys and Signature, the Tiffany & Co. collection feels like so much more than an accessory. The shapes are classic, but these sunglasses are in a league of their own.

The Staple Shades- Ray-Ban

From the classic aviators to the modern take on the wayfarer, Ray-Bans are truly icons. No sunglass collection would be complete without a pair, and with all the options – from rimless to geek chic – you could have one for every day of the week.

Best Celeb Collaboration – Madonna for Dolce & Gabbana

Designed to be occasion-specific, Madonna’s second collection with Dolce & Gabbana is destined to be the must-have choice for It girls. From the materials to the styles, the element of glamour and luxury is unmistakable, just the kind of thing an It (or Material) girl wants.
