I started the feature “NYFW FALL 2013: Through the Editor’s Lens” so that you could come with as I move through fashion week, experiencing what I do visually. Now complete is Part II, and shortly, Part III (the final installment) for the season, which shares my fashion week adventures. Part II focuses on the cool tech gadgets, combined of course, with cutting edge style, that came in to play throughout the week.
I got sent this fashion week survival kit, which actually came in handy quite often, featuring a sparkly Clava makeup bag, Altoids mints, an Eyebobs eyeglass cloth, more!
At the Style Coalition Influencer Lounge, for the Grammy’s Party, I got “grammy glam”! I received a gorgeous retro hairstyle via Herbal Essences and my homegirl Natasha Leibel, and an impeccable manicure using the new nail polish line COVERGIRL OutLast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in Constant Caribbean. All decked out, I then took a little ‘twirl’ on the red carpet for the “manicam”!
Later that night, I popped over to hang with my friends from NARS Cosmetics at their Grammy-viewing party. I snapped the above pic with Jenny Smith, national makeup artist for the brand, who I adore everything about — look at her cool collar necklaces!

While watching dozens of shows this month for the Spring 2013 collections, it was hard not to glance across the runway and notice the dozens of raised arms, holding cell phones or iPads, documenting the looks live as they came down the runway. Seconds later, those exact same looks were sent out via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or any other of the myriad of social media channel, which meant anyone in the world with access to a smartphone or computer with internet access could see what the select crew of guests at a runway show just witnessed. Amazing right? Even those with front row seats, the best seats in the house, whipped out phones to share their unique experience with the web.
After covering fashion week for nine years, the emergence of new technology has significantly improved what it’s like for me to be organized, have convenient and useful devices, and simplify the steps involved to completing my work and meet deadlines. Continue reading…
