I’ve always said that one can never own too many pairs of flats…and still stick to it! They are just so practical and constantly come in handy – plus when was the last time after a long day and tired feet you fantasized about slipping your foot into a pair of six inch stilettos? I wouldn’t recommend wearing flats every single day, as a little bit of heel actually can be good support and help your arch (just ask my podiatrist), but a few days a week, a super cute flat is a must. Take my latest two as a prime example- one fun and girly, the other sophisticated and chic, and both work appropriate. Thank you Payless BOGO, for helping me rationalize to add even more flats to my collection!

As one of our most popular designers to come out of Project Runway, Christian Siriano presented his Fall 2011 Collection, a black orchids-inspired line which also features the new Christian Siriano for Payless Gold shoe line, in which the hoofed-toe and petal-adorned dress pumps served to accentuate his nature-inspired collection.  The dark, earthy tones ranged from black (often stylishly layered in light, iridescent layers to create texture and volume) to a mauve pink and moss green. Siriano’s attention to detail and glamour were punctuated by the pairing of dress pumps, which complimented the sleek lines featured in his full, bouncing skirts and dresses textured to resemble a garden.

The American Living for JCPenney Holiday collection just hit stores, and has some terrific pieces that function for all occasions! I was loving the Navajo sweater, ruffled skirts, and frilly tops. Payless Holiday Collection and Spring 2011 Preview

The designer assortment just keeps getting better and better, and for Spring 2011 there are a TON of great choices from both Payless’ designer (Lela Rose, Isabel Toledo, Christian Siriano) and other labels (Zoe & Zac, American Eagle, Dexter). Expect some great comfort technology, must-have styles, accessories, and even the expansion of beauty products. Avon Anew Platinum Luncheon

A lovely lunch at A Voce, Columbus Circle with the face of Avon Platinum, actress Jacqueline Bisset, was my intro to Avon’s Anew Platinum Serum and Night Cream. The product use Avon’s first-ever patented Paxillium Technology , in which you will see results after two weeks. Geared toward women 60 plus, working on deep wrinkles and promises to dramatically reduce the look of those pesky lines. Shop Avon to by both of these products together to save some money, and the line also plans to include eye and lip cream, cleanser, and day cream with SPF 25.

Dr. Martens NYC Store Opening

The middle school-er inside of me died and went to heaven once I stepped inside the brand new Dr. Martens Store at 148 Spring Street in SoHo last night. I remember saving my allowance for months to own a pair, eventually amassing a collection of eight pairs (now, only one from the original ‘collection’ remains). Back to the store: so many great styles to choose from, especially a selection that look nothing like the classic ’8-lace’ boots! I was loving the chunky heels, fleece lined, and fluero-hued varieties.

Initiated in 2009 as an event to celebrate fashion and give a much-needed boost of confidence and cash to the fashion industry, Fashion’s Night Out was a spectacular success and is back for its second year. Hundreds of stores will be open late, and they’ll be hosting tons of events: celebrity appearances, fashion shows, discounts, visits from the designers themselves — the night will truly be a celebration of all things fashion. In addition to aiding the fashion financial sector, an important New York charity will also get a boost, the New York City AIDS Fund. We recently attended the Payless Spring 2009 preview, and are excited to announce the continuation of fabulous designer styles by the likes of Abaete, Lela Rose, and Alice + Olivia.
