Although I switch up the products I use, from body wash to shampoo, deodorant to eye shadow daily, I do have a penchant for natural deodorants, and have written about my top picks in the past. Continually on the quest for the ideal one, the balance of a favorable scent with good coverage is always a must. This week, courtesy of the brand, I tested the Le Couvent des Minimes Eau des Minimes Everyday Deodorant with Alum Stone, which is inspired by the simple yet rich botanical recipes, cultivated by the botanist monks of the Minims from the South of France and later the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. The natural skincare line uses the minimum amount of ingredients necessary and sticks to only the highest of quality botanical cultivations, ideal for all skin types, especially sensitive ones. The packaging is utterly old world and gorgeous, with text and graphics that allude to plant-based combinations of yore.
Back to the deodorant: a major plus is it’s unisex appeal; I had Fashion Pulse Hubby test it with me, and received zero complaints about the scent, which is a combination of blood orange, lemon, and mandarin essential oils as well as Rosemary leaves. It also rolls on clear, and the alum stone as the applicator ball gives a cool and soothing sensation to the skin. And, for the final piece of info: it works! Usually before I go to a class at the gym after work I touch up my deodorant, and would advise doing the same with this product, but since we all perspire at different rates, I would customize the act of reapplying (or not) to your individual needs. All in all, four thumbs up (myself and FPHubby’s) to Le Couvent des Minimes Eau des Minimes Everyday Deodorant, which retails for $13.50 for the 1.7 fl. oz roll-on glass bottle, available for purchase at USA.lecouventdesminimes.com.

If you’re like me, you look forward to the summer months, but you don’t look forward to the body sweat and smells that accompany them. Thankfully, I’ve discovered a little three-trick ritual that keeps me smelling fresh during the hot and humid days of summer. The first step is a nice cool shower; nothing groundbreaking here. The second is, after you step out of the shower, while you are still swipe some natural alum under your armpits. This will help kill bacterial, and is all natural and odorless. Lastly, the application of a good natural deodorant.
