Thanks for all of your truly kind comments and support; this was such a coup to be a Maybelline “It” girl of the day last Monday, June 27th! I’ve also got some requests to share what I am wearing, so without further ado, here it is, in numerical fashion!
1: Sweetheart neckline dress from ModCloth.com (no longer available)
2: Two pairs of tights! On the bottom, neon pink opaque ones (brand unknown) and on top, black Kushyfoot fishnets. (courtesy of Kushyfoot)

4: two sets of vintage chain bracelets I got at a market in Pittsburgh for $15 each!
5: Marc Jacobs Quilted Cream bag with chain strap: gift of Fashion Pulse Mom

Maybelline can do no wrong in my book, so not surprisingly, I am really into their newest FIT Me! Collection that includes five different products: concealer, foundation, pressed powder, blush, and bronzer. Within each of these, there are a plethora of color matches; for example the foundation, which is the most expensive item at $7.99, comes in 18 shades in a numbering system that starts in the 100s (I am 115 — the second to the lightest) and through the 300s.
What’s so special about this new line? It’s a simple idea, really: it’s is supposed to blend and enhance skin tones in a tailor-made color match system. As Maybelline makeup artist Gato told me backstage during New York Fashion Week, “you wouldn’t want someone to say, “what a great foundation!;” what they should be saying is “what great skin you have.”
This epitomizes the new collection, which you should definitely check out, as it is already available at mass market retailers.

Although Maybelline does many things exceptionally well, mascara is really at the root of the company, being the first product it ever created. The latest offering, One by One Volum’ Express, debuts four years of research in the making, spawning “The Last Catcher,” an elastomer brush that catches, coats, and declumps each individual lash. After giving the new mascara a test run, the tapered shape of the brush left me certainly clump free, with lash definition, opposed to one long, fanned lash look. The Maybelline One by One Volum’ Expres hits shelves this January 2011, with options in three washable and two waterproof shades.
Available at Target, and other beauty and drugstore chains nationwide.
