The Show: Sally LaPointe
Theme: Polished Edge
Color Palette: Black, Grey, and White.
The Collection’s Signature Look: LaPointe’s black knit with feathered 3/4 sleeves paired with a leather pencil skirt are certainly subversive, powerful, yet a finished look. Perhaps the heightened collar, ala turtleneck, will be making a comeback for fall 2014 as well…
The Show: Costello Tagliapietra
The Theme: Strength and Power, heroines from science fiction and fantasy.
The Color Palette: Costello Tagliapietra debuted a jaw-dropping collection this season, comprised of metallic, varying neutral hues of navy, grey tweeds and browns adorned with Tanzanite jewel buttons
The Collection’s Signature Look: Costello’s monocramatic metallic green tailored blazer and pant set was definitely a piece worth raving about. Its tailored appeal and metallic color straddled cool and classic yet effortlessly cutting edge. Cropped at the ankle, the elevated hem length for pants is here to stay, which means you can show off some incredible heels with this particular look.

Inspired by the HBO series, Game of Thrones, Helmut Lang hits the nail on the head with his Fall 2012 runway show. Edgy silhouettes included tailored blazers, wool dresses with leather sleeves, and asymmetrical jackets in black, white, and this season’s, burnt red. Minimal colors were shockingly appealing in tree branch prints paired with tight denim and furs in a cranberry hue. Helmut Lang’s timeless pieces can be worn in a multitude of ways, as the designer styled oversized, chunky scarves by Taiana Giefer into the collection. Two-piece suits are perfect for a stand out look in the office or could be paired with sexy lace for a day to night look. Lang’s textures were a huge focus this season with furs, leather, lace, knit, wool, and suiting.

The perfect depiction of rugged, Gilded Age Men’s “The Speed” collection mixed a unique palette of clean and sporty looks. The result? That man who seems to nail style on the head while still looking like he doesn’t give a *^$%! The rebellious nature of the collection was represented in lots of black, grays, olives, and deep indigo sweaters and tees while the overly dyed denims and saturated burgundy jeans paired with scarves and leather relays that this guy is conscious of style. What’s more? The brand is socially conscious, devoted to organic, handcrafted and artisan approaches!

Tattooed and pierced with jet black hair, Lisbeth Salander of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo may not (yet) be a style icon, hwever, costume designer Trish Summerville is hoping The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for H&M capsule collection will appeal to more than just the goth culture: “I don’t want it just to be girls that are tomboyish or punky, I hope it’s someone that’s quite feminine as well,” she said in regards to the desired shopper.
In the YouTube video just released, take a peek at the collection’s bad to the bone leather, torn up tees and combat boots (and don’t forget to admire the fussed up, rock star braids!). Distinct, edgy, and some parts mod, this collection will make a statement in its entirety.
The collection will be available at H&M starting Dec. 14th and the movie hits theaters Dec. 21st.
