I’ve been hearing about micellar cleansing water (name for the micelle molecules that are working to lift up dirt and debris) pretty much nonstop lately, as one of the biggest trends in beauty, and was thrilled to finally have a go at it myself for the first time this week (courtesy of Garnier). The thing that people seem to love about it is that it’s just so…easy; it’s a cleanser and makeup remover in one, and requires no water or rinsing off. So basically you can put it on anywhere, at any time, without needing to be hunched over a sink with a towel nearby. Upon first swipe (use a flat, wide cotton pad or cotton ball) it reminded of the benefits of witch hazel or a good astringent, in which you can see the evidence of it working via the messy smear on the cotton ball.
Always weary of new skincare based on my sensitive skin, it actually is perfect to use, as it is gentle and reveals, rather than clog, pores. Garnier makes two versions, this one pictured above, and the other for waterproof makeup, and at $8 for a generous 13.5 oz bottle, it’s hard to beat in quantity and price for an item that does both simultaneously. It most certainly did the (gentle) trick at removing and soothing my skin, and I’ve been enjoying following up my new cleansing routine with Garnier’s Wake-Up Hydra-Gel Moisturizer, quenching my skin’s desire for constant moisture, working all day to reveal the baby soft skin I knew I always had!
