Since I started treating my eyeglasses as a mandatory fashion accessory, opposed to a medical device, I become much happier and accepting of the fact that I have to wear them. With choice comes freedom, and I sure have had plenty of styles to choose from over the years, as I slowly but steadily built up my eyeglass collection. Recently however, after many years of my script being stagnant, it finally came to be that there was a detectable change in vision, and alas, had to replace the lenses, or eyeglasses in their entirety to use my new adjusted prescription and see better. Darn!!!
Luckily, Firmoo came to my rescue with the option to try out a pair, courtesy of the brand, which couldn’t have been easier. Overall, it’s super easy to select your preferences are far as silhouette and lens type go, and adding in your script takes no time at all. The best part is probably how incredibly affordable ordering glasses online can be; had I paid, my frames, lenses, and shipping would only have come to $36! Pretty awesome, right? They arrived in 10 days, along with a cleaning cloth, eyeglass tool, and soft and hard cases. I knew enough about the frames I selected, thanks to the provided specifications, that I hypothesized they would be a great size and style for my face, and… I think I’m right!

Throughout my entire life, regardless of where I’ve lived, what I’ve done, or been into, I’ve always worn some variation of a turtleneck or corduroy pants. Bonus that they’re back in fashion now, but I’d still wear them nonetheless. I actually didn’t realize how comfortable I felt in them, or had a life-long commitment to the styles until recently, which made me think about a bit more about what comprises a signature style. If someone were to draw a caricature of you today, what sartorial elements would be found in it that would clearly identify you?

People sometimes look at me incredulously when I tell them that I pretty much order all of my prescription eyeglass and sunglass needs online. It really is so easy; most sites offer generous return policies as well, so if your frames look straight up goofy on you — you can return/exchange for another more face-flattering pair. As a rule of thumb, go with what works for your face, opposed to what is the latest trend in eyewear; you will certainly be happier with them in the long run. One silhouette that looks fabulous on a variety of face shapes, both men and women, is the classic aviator.
Courtesy of the brand, I tested a pair of the Firmoo Metal Aviator Sunglasses with my subscription in the lens. The glasses arrived with a hard case, a soft case, a cleaning cloth, and a repair kit, and I wore them for an outdoor lunch at Union Square this week. Fashion, let me introduce you to function; I can now see clearly, and look stylish, when the sun is shining outside!
