T by Alexander Wang continues to wow us by doing what Wang does best: gauzy, over sized and uncomplicated knitwear, effortless maxis, and basics that are none other but manageable. Simple never looked so good. For Fall 2012, T by Alexander Wang introduced full-length leather pants (at $995, they’re a bit pricier than the rest of the line) alongside more feminine pleated skirts and cropped knit tops. The neoprene dresses are anything but submissive, yet parallel the rest of the mainly black, grey, teal and ruby collection rather nicely.

Fendi

Fendi’s Fall 2012 collection of contrasts is nearly indescribable. Who knew nature and artificiality could compliment each other so well? The usage of furs and skins against streamlined skirts demanded attention, and we were equally as intrigued by the crown of warrior-like braids. Coats prevailed as the must-have item in the collection, however handbags came in at a close second place.

The collection was both dark and fresh, introducing subtle color blocking with burgundy and emerald. Those snake-like leggings were reminiscent of Avatar, and when paired with lace-up and furry boots, they were super sexy. With so much going on, it’s clear that Fendi is looking forward to the future of fashion.

New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks have all displayed an array of wish-list worthy accessories. We’ve covered the SS12 clothing trends, yet accessories are an outfit’s bells-and-whistles. Check out some of our favorites…

Handbags

JCrew (pictured above) absolutely nailed it with their ladylike collection of handbags for spring 2012. Blue, orange, green, yellow…did we mention leopard?! Perfectly practical, but still extremely fashion forward.

Clutches

I simply can’t pick a favorite, so let’s call it a tie. Proenza Schouler (at top) mixed textures to create tweed clutches with chunky chain detail straps, while Chloe mixed accessories to make what looks to be a bracelet-bag combo. Gotta have it!

Shoes

Celine really wowed with their take on the platform heel/pump for the upcoming season. Basic black or the marriage of black and red, simplicity says it all. Even more incredible, with your ankle strapped in, these shoes look totally wearable – dare I even say comfortable?

Sunglasses

Frameless sunglasses at Fendi felt interestingly academic. Deviating away from the line’s normal sexuality, the glasses definitely added to the serious, studious woman, a style rather novel for Fendi.

From left to right: Givenchy, Donna Karan [Images via Style.com]

Jewelry

Bracelets: The stacked multi-colored bangles at Carolina Hererra proved that wrists should not be left naked. The more, the merrier come Spring 2012.

Necklaces: Donna Karan went wild with her tribal-inspired neckpieces strung with wood and plastic. Meanwhile, Givenchy’s statement shark-tooth pendants give “sharp” a double meaning.

Fashion Week SS12 was an accessory-studded event; which piece is your favorite?

Fendi

Fendi’s Spring 2010 collection successfully embodied some of my very favorite things: sheer fabrics, raw edges, lots of neutral tones, and a romantic-yet-rough overall aesthetic (not to mention, the runway show was set to my favorite album of the year, The Dead Weather’s ‘Horehound’!). Karl Lagerfeld took the season’s obsession with transparency to a whole new level, all the way down to completely see-through evening clutches. The collection successfully blended toughness and relaxed femininity and the outcome was one of the best Fendi shows in recent years.

Dolce & Gabbana

The design duo’s S/S 2010 show was heavy on the lace in a super charming, incredibly flirty, burlesque-meets-tango sort of way. The mixture of textures and fabrics that one might not initially think would be well meshed (such as denim and lace) turned out to be a hit as the details were impeccable and the collection was true to the house’s Sicilian roots. The show lacked the giant ball gowns that have been prominent in its last few seasons, instead showing a return to form with tailored suits, hotpants, corsets, and mini dresses.

Alberta Ferretti

Romantic chiffon dresses were all the rage at Alberta Ferretti’s Spring/Summer 2010 show. The soft, delicate dresses featured this season’s trendy pastel palette with a few strong splashes of color and embroidery hidden amongst the nightwear-inspired floaty fabrics. Though this season has seen no shortage of gauzy feminine gowns, Ferretti’s are among the best as they are very wearable, beautiful, and timeless.
