It’s almost too easy to resort to wearing deep, dark neutral hues during the winter, but luckily essie for winter 2015 presents six great colors that will have you rethinking the way you approach nail polish in this chilly season. They are (pictured from left to right): peak show, apres-chic, virgin snow, haute tub, altitude attitude, and shall we shalet. Each bottle retails for $8.50, and is available at essie.com, fine salons, and beauty destinations nationwide now!
Color Me‘s new sonic makeup applicator ($68), which launched exclusively last week at Net-a-Porter, simulates a makeup artist’s “tapping” of blending in the foundation, powder, moisturizer, cc or bb cream into the skin for a smooth, flawless look. The tapping comes by way of 15,000 sonic pulses per minute, distributed through a universal sponge applicator that is exclusive to this model.
Three really great attributes of this device are #1: it comes with a lithium battery that doesn’t need to be charged, and #2: it works with any kind of liquid or powder coverage you are already using and loving. The #3 is the tear drop-shape of the sponges, to aptly fit around the nose and eyes, and can be used for up to 30 times before needing to be replaced (replacements are sold in packages of two for $12).

I know that I frequently get excited about nail polish, but how could you not? Especially when a great slew of fab summer shades let you sink right into season with spunk, at only $8.50 per bottle? I’m smitten with the latest from essie, Which has a little something for everyone, from a sun-ripe peach (Peach Side Babe), to an immersive marine blue (Pret-a-Surfer). My personal favorite, Chillato, is described as a “frozen cream pistachio,” while Private Weekend (a sparkling crisp white), Saltwater Happy (sugar-sweet Atlantic blue), and Sunset Sneaks (a bright energetic crimson) are extremely versatile and pretty. The six-color summer lineup just became available this month at fine salons and beauty destinations nationwide; which one is your fave?

It’ll be a cinch to make sure your digits are properly decorated this holiday season with these five amazing collections. It’s hard to choose one shade, so I may be doing a mani on myself every other day in order to wear them all in 2014!
Zoya Nail Polish boasts over 300 shades, is vegan-friendly, safe for use during pregnancy, and is 5-free (of chemicals); what’s not to love? For starters, I am totally enamored with the Matte Velvet Collection (pictured at top) that includes six highly opaque hues in a versatile array of shades that work well with all skin tones. Seeing is believing, and if you’re going to try just one, I highly recommend Dovima, a matte black shade with a hint of a charcoal, silvery finish that makes it less dramatic than a full-on black glossy shades. Buy all six for $54, or individually at $9 a piece.
Pictured above is the Zoya Holiday 2014 Collection, Wishes, which takes its lead from the fall 2014 runway hues, sure to make a great match with decadent holiday fabrications such as taffeta, silk, charmeuse, and brocade. Priced from $9-$10 each or $57 for all six, there are three PixieDust options with holographic hex glitter that isn’t overly wrought amongst your other holiday sparkly possessions. Both collections are available now at Zoya.com.
