As mentioned in a post in late June, the wonderful and fabulous Style Coalition video, Don’t Shop! has finally hit the web! The message behind the fun project is really key; basically showing the importance of supporting the fashion industry, especially when the economic environment has been less than stellar these days. I know it may seem trivial to say “please shop!” but really when you think about it, it’s such a small action that can really benefit your favorite store, designer, and/or brand. As a designer myself, I know I definitely appreciate any support and that the past nine months have been dramatically less busy than in years past, questioning whether I should stay in business or close before things get worse.
If you’re wondering exactly what the Style Coalition does, it is “an organized group of independent online fashion publishers (bloggers) who are combining their love for fashion, passion for social media and technology, and enthusiasm for the industry to help major brands better reach the fashion masses.” Anyways, enjoy the video, please shop, and pass this video onto five friends!
