Inspired by the streets of New York, DKNY went to the core of its brand DNA for this refreshing collection, which breathed new life into the concept of a runway show, with each look shown being radically different from the next, just like the large majority of the pseudo models who walked the runway — plucked literally from the streets of this great metropolis. From a tattoo artist to deejay to a student, there was a certain realness, which felt absolutely modern and spot-on by using real New Yorkers to walk in the looks; showing the amazing melting pot of this city, as well as an amalgam of great DKNY motifs working seamlessly together.

Of course there was the requisite black, a staple in a New Yorker’s wardrobe, found in a bevy of fabrications, alongside some houndstooth and hybrid animal camouflage prints (a favorite), mixed with classic sporty street style, interwoven hard and soft structures, faux fur, and electric pink.  All in all, the collection was as memorable as the celebration it commemorated — 25 years of DKNY!
