From my desk to yours, here’s some of the fabulous products I tested and experiences I had this week!
Colbert M.D. Tone Control Facial Discs are my JAM! As I’ve gotten older, so has my skin, and there are certain aspects of that, that I’ve found to be far less than enjoyable. These little discs help to brighten and smooth out skin, using Skinbright QuSomes to provide Symwhite® molecules under the skin to correct hyper pigmentation as a result of repeated sun damage. As you can tell by my fair skin and freckly complexion, sadly, I have decades of damage already in progress. The delivery of the formula via the circular pads adds some extra control when administering the product to designated areas, and ensures you use the right amount needed. An honorable mention also goes out to Colbert M.D.’s Illumino Face Oil, that continues to improve your face’s tone, texture, and hydration levels in one of my favorite products- a face oil! With a combo of five oils (borage seed, argan, passion fruit, yangu, and marula), it easily infuses antioxidants and vitamins right where your skin most craves them!
The arrival of Coca-Cola by OPI is right around the corner! Available in both nail lacquer and GelColor formulas starting in June 2014, you’ll certainly want to get a nail look inspired by Coca-Cola’s most beloved beverages., and mix and match the shades for a dazzling effect. This week I tried two of the nine shades in the line in a manicure, using Coca-Cola Red and My Signature is “DC.”
All of the shades from the Coca-Cola by OPI collection are:
Coca-Cola Red (inspired by Coca-Cola)
You’re So Vain-illa (inspired by Vanilla Coke)
Sorry I’m Fizzy Today (inspired by Vanilla Coke)
Get Cherried Away (inspired by Cherry Coke)
My Signature is “DC” (inspired by Diet Coke)
Today I Accomplished Zero (inspired by Coke Zero)
Green on the Runway (inspired by Sprite)
A Grape Affair (inspired by Fanta Grape)
Orange You Fantastic! (inspired by Fanta Orange)
Each nail lacquer bottle will retail for $9 and can be purchased at professional salons and retailers such at Ulta. Share your Coca-Cola inspired manis via the hashtag #OPICokeStyle.
Moments like these make me have “I love my job!” revelations: I kicked off the week by tasting the launch of Edition Première Vintage 2007 by Perrier-Jouët, a very limited edition release (as in 500 bottles, TOTAL come to the U.S.) that is absolutely as delicious as the bottle is beautiful. Retailing for around $225, it is certainly a special treat that will help to commemorate an engagement, anniversary, or any other sort of celebration that you deem it to be worthy of. Perrier-Jouët has a special place in my heart, as my husband drank it during the toast at our wedding, and the lovely accompanying champagne flutes looked stunning with the light from the all-windowed greenhouse setting reflecting perfectly off of them.
I’d like to believe that I’m constantly introducing you to new, innovative, must-have products, so the newly launched Pureology Colour Stylist Density Definer Medium Hold Crème Wax (retails for $24) and the Piecing Sculpt High Hold Sculpting Fiber Paste (also $24) fit into my editorial philosophy as they combine great style, texture and hold with with protection for color treated hair. It’s a double whammy of awesome style, and while the Crème Wax is great for density and definition of all hair types and lengths, the Fiber Wax is great for piecey, short to medium length hair. Regardless of the one that you choose, the StrengtheningAntiFadeComplex, with natural orange oil, camelina and coriander extracts makes Pureology a leader in products for color treated hair.
Redken’s Blonde Idol collection of products kind of makes me want to be a blonde again! Featuring the Kera-Bright System that tones, brightens, and pH balances the hair while proecting, conditioning, and strengthening prevents that awful brassy tendency that can happen so fast with blonde hues. The four products include the Sulfate-Free Shampoo, Custom-Tone Treatment, BBB Spray and Mask, in a price range of $18-$32, and are available at salons nationwide (visit Redken.com for locations).
Full Disclosure: Fashion Pulse Daily received samples of the mentioned products for editorial review purposes.
