I spent this morning at the gorgeous new Clinique counter at Manhattan’s Herald Square Macy’s location, featuring the newly revamped space and Service as you like it motif. The inviting open space allows customers to fully indulge in the Clinique products and experience that fits their lifestyle, shopping, skin and makeup needs most. Some of the most popular new elements into a Clinique Pencil Bar (includes 73 different combinations of Chubby Sticks and Quickliners for eyes and lips), a Sexy Neutrals Bar (you can take a quick iPad quiz to find out which colors are best for you), as well as a mens section, skin consultation area (featuring new lighting), and a new arrivals/gifts section.
I was lucky to have a private walk through of the space with Anthony Battaglia, Clinique’s Vice President of Global Retail Design and Visual Merchandising who designed the space, with Clinique’s Global Colour Artist, Jenna Menard on hand, teaching different makeup looks to customers. Anthony identified some of the subtle, but important details to the space, including the use of artfully painted wood grain fixtures, the easy functionality of counter drawers as vanities and self-service product availability, as well as story telling via video, iPad, and built-in poster displays for skin diagnostics and showing the latest offerings in makeup and skincare.
All-in-all the new counter combines an on-brand approach that utlilizes the latest in technology to help educate Clinique enthusiast while giving every single person who approaches it an incredible experience, and products that will help with any skin tone, type, and concern imaginable.
