[My summer and fall of 2015 color – Nice’NEasy’s Sunkissed 8SC Sandy Copper Blonde]
I like changing up my look, however, when I find one that I like, especially when it comes to hair color, I’m a bit reluctant to switch it up. This July, Clairol Color Director James Corbett lightened up my tresses for more strawberry blonde appeal, which I absolutely adored and felt spot on for summer. With the start of a New Year, going for a richer, deeper shade of red just felt like a natural progression for me, and an update that James was equally psyched about.
[My two new shade options to try at home – I’ve been using Natural Instincts since 1995!]
James used Nice’nEasy’s 110 Natural Light Auburn on my hair, with the option for me to use that, or the Natural Instincts 16 Light Auburn at home when my roots begin to show in 4-6 weeks time. As much as I love seeing James, it’s nice to be able to do it myself, since I chronically wait way to long in between salon visits. Since July, I had touched up my color at home twice with Clairol, having procured both boxes at the same time, so there was never any excuse that I didn’t have what I needed when it came to my roots. Are you feeling that it could be time for a hair color change? Don’t be afraid to #FlirtWithColor; even a slight change of color, which is generally recommended when coloring at home, is a welcome one!
[It feels really, really good to go into 2016 with my newly minted, vibrant red tresses! Thanks James!]

[My new #ShiftaShade Clairol hair color, thanks to James Corbett]
It’s amazing how quickly times goes by…since this is the third summer that I’ve had red hair! As red tends to fade, and I’ve gone to a few different colorists over the past few years, it hasn’t been exactly the same hue…but close enough to not raise any eyebrows! For the summer of 2015, however, my hue is decidedly going in a different direction — lighter, more copper, and with a definite touch of blonde in the mix. Thanks to the incredibly talented
James Corbett of
James Corbett Studio and the
Clairol Color Director, I gracefully made a motion to
#ShiftaShade with
Clairol’s nice’n easy Sun Kissed Collection in 8SC Sandy Copper Blonde.
[My new color: Clairol Sun Kissed nice’n easy in 8SC Sandy Copper Blonde]
Corbett immediately put me at ease by admitting that he loves doing red hair (phew!), and I knew right away to trust his instincts with making my hair a bit lighter, yet still noticeably red for the summer. The best part about it is that I am just slightly moving within the scale of my hair color, so the results won’t be extreme, but beautiful nonetheless, and since James Corbett works with colors that can easily be purchased, I can’t use the excuse of “I have to make a salon appointment” when my roots begin to show, because I can do it myself, at home!
What do you think of my new color; can you see the #ShiftaShade difference? For reference, see below for a “redrospective” of my hair over the past three summers.
