It feels like it was centuries ago since I last incorporated a Fashion Pulse Flash into the site (lies; the last one was in June), so….here you go! Have a great weekend everyone!
I’m very much “Carmex for life!” since I started digging into the tub with my chubby little fingers from around age 8, and haven’t been able to resist the yellow tinted balms ever since. I was beyond elated to try the new Carmex Comfort Care Lip Balms, made with Colloidal Oatmeal, cold pressed fruit seed oil, beeswax, and cupuacu butter that touts the ultimate moisturization and softness for lips. My goodness is this stuff good! It comes in the flavors of mixed berry, sugar plum, and watermelon blast (my personal favorite), and soothed my badly chapped lips, leaving no traces of dryness behind. What a gem! And it’s fantastic that it retails for just $1.99; find it now at mass food and drug retailers nationwide, such as Wal-Mart, Target, and CVS.
Here’s looking at you, winter, and if its up to Morgan Taylor, it’s going to be a glistening, gorgeous one! I’ve got a thing for super opaque, saturated nail hues, and The Great Ice-scape Winter 2016 collection is full of them! Yessss! Inspired by one of my all-tiem favorite winter sports, ice skating, the new collection features six new shades (from clockwise): N-ice Girls Rule (pale pink shimmer), Hey Twirl-Friend (warm neude creme), Figure 8’s & Heartbreaks (dusty mauve creme), Lace ‘Em Up (midnight blue creme), Ice Queen Anyone (copper shimmer), and Flirt in a Skating Skirt (steel blue creme). Indeed, all of the shades in this collection are difficult to come by, making them all the more coveted once they hit the shelves in November. Be on the look out for them for $9 each at fine salons nationwide and online at MorganTaylorLacquer.com.
This week I had the pleasure of seeing an advanced screening of DreamWorks’ THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS (it opens September 2nd), based off of The New York Times bestselling novel by M.L. Stedman. I very much wish I would have read the book prior to seeing the movie, as the story takes bends and turns, high and lows that really speak the truth when it comes to the reality of love, life, and loss. For a little over two hours, I was mesmerized by the phenomenal acting by Michael Fassbender,, Alicia Vikander, and Rachel Weisz, and a wardrobe that brought forth the best of early 1920s style. The sweeping vistas of the coast of Australia and New Zealand set the stage for this rich drama, and without giving too much away, revolved around what the ocean may give, can also take back. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot, but if you tend to produce a tear or two while watching dramas, then, well, you may want to be equipped with a couple of tissues up your sleeve! It’s well worth a watch, however, as I suspect, one, if not all of the stars, will receive Oscar nominations as a result.
