Happy spring! It feels great, doesn’t it? Now let’s get to the fashion!
Incorporating a printed skirt into your wardrobe can be a delightful challenge, and although some people are masters of print mixing, I feel most at home when I keep the rest of my look relatively solid, which also let’s the spotlight remain on the singularly on the printed piece. A little texture and shine, however, doesn’t hurt, and in that sense, the snakeskin of the shoe, and brightness of the jewels represented themselves well.
The inspiration for this look was this CĂ©line summer 2014 skirt, comprised of strong primary hues, and absolutely out of my budget, although I do have to say that the pastels found in my affordable version feel right at home for spring. It also has great movement, contributed to even further by the great asymmetrical hem of the pleated skirt.
Looking for an interesting backdrop to pose against took some contemplation, however this new graffiti mural in the neighborhood, which looks like it was done in chalk and has a central focus of two bucks butting heads was my hubby’s choice, and looked pretty a-okay as the backdrop!
