I’ve been joking that “mustard and ketchup” is my new favorite color combination, and as funny as it sounds, they really work well together! It’s a great way to go into the colder months with a pop of color that mixes and matches well with the season’s heavy bout of neutrals. In this look, the centerpieces are certainly the crimson NYDJ jeans and the Avon Convertible Trench Jacket, which has the capability to be worn in three different ways. It’s always fun to have options, especially when a flux in temperature can be anticipated or you need suitcase-friendly options when you travel. As you may already know, Avon has a lot more to offer than just cosmetics. I recently went to a showing of some items that are immediately available as well as a sneak peek of what’s to come in the fall. Look forward to capes, dresses, shoes and bags with most coming in at under $50! These fashion-forward items will certainly surprise and delight you; a particularly stunning pair of yellow suedge wedges is what I will have to keep on the look out at Avon.com come fall.  Above are some of my favorite pieces shown, along with the brand new SuperSHOCK Max Mascara, now only $5.99 (was $9) in Brown/Black and the SuperSHOCK Liquid Lip Shine SPF 15, $4.99 (was $8).

A women-founded company and sold through representatives, Silpada Designs are handcrafted with a focus on sterling silver and featuring semi-precious, composite, and man-made materials sourced from all over the world. There’s a chance you didn’t- because I sure had no clue! But, after trying the Avon Wear Your Way Versatile Dress (Available in S, M, L, XL, price: $24.99,) I am a convert (pun intended).  As the perfect, LBD, this dress features five looks in one. It comes with a little foldable diagram with instructions so that you’ll have a reference to wear it in new ways each time. In these pictures I have placed the “V” in the front with the straps tied several times around my waist, but you can also drape, tuck, and twist them in several other ways. Payless Holiday Collection and Spring 2011 Preview

The designer assortment just keeps getting better and better, and for Spring 2011 there are a TON of great choices from both Payless’ designer (Lela Rose, Isabel Toledo, Christian Siriano) and other labels (Zoe & Zac, American Eagle, Dexter). Expect some great comfort technology, must-have styles, accessories, and even the expansion of beauty products. You can shop the holiday collection now, and I was lucky enough to get a pair of the amazing Isabel Toledo Bow Dress Shoes.

Avon Anew Platinum Luncheon

A lovely lunch at A Voce, Columbus Circle with the face of Avon Platinum, actress Jacqueline Bisset, was my intro to Avon’s Anew Platinum Serum and Night Cream. The product use Avon’s first-ever patented Paxillium Technology , in which you will see results after two weeks. Geared toward women 60 plus, working on deep wrinkles and promises to dramatically reduce the look of those pesky lines. Shop Avon to by both of these products together to save some money, and the line also plans to include eye and lip cream, cleanser, and day cream with SPF 25.

Dr. Martens NYC Store Opening

The middle school-er inside of me died and went to heaven once I stepped inside the brand new Dr. Martens Store at 148 Spring Street in SoHo last night. I remember saving my allowance for months to own a pair, eventually amassing a collection of eight pairs (now, only one from the original ‘collection’ remains). Back to the store: so many great styles to choose from, especially a selection that look nothing like the classic ’8-lace’ boots! I was loving the chunky heels, fleece lined, and fluero-hued varieties.

I was recently given a beautiful necklace that looked amazing on me and garnered quite a bit of compliments, so when I asked my friends over at Attention PR where it had come from, I was shocked to discover it was Avon! The item I reference is the Faux Ivory Glam Statement Necklace, $19.99 (was $24.99) and upon perusing the site, discovered that there were many more baubles I definitely wouldn’t mind wearing, all at extremely reasonable prices.
