Weather can certainly influence our mood, but fashion can certainly impact it just as much, generating joyous, uplifting and exuberant explanations, based on the sublime and beautiful articulations of its craft. Last week, I previewed Adrianna Papell fall 2014 lineup of sportswear, day, and evening collections, and couldn’t help but revel in the mastery of cut and embellishment in front of my eyes, despite the very early hour (at least for me) of 8:30am!
The evening wear, found in mini to midi and long lengths and various states of embellishment is a must for any sort of cocktail or black tie affair in your future, with favorites including champagne and blush shades mixed in with some 1920s art deco influences feeling right on trend. Day dresses, largely found in knits, have never been more effortless at Papell, with incredible style and stretch to stylishly get you through your day, from solid to tropical floral options abounding.
The sportswear line, now at its sophomore effort after debuting this spring, has become more confident in its cuts and daring in its texture combinations – to great effect. Highlights included mixed media leather jackets, embossed exotic skin footwear, wide leg trousers, leather dresses and skirts, and micro prints on dresses and tops. There’s so much to love, that I couldn’t wait to share some of my favorites from the collections in the slideshow above.
You may have to wait until August for some of the pieces to hit the stores, but you can always shop the sportswear line, and Adrianna Papell’s other collections at fine retailers such as Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor now.
