After years of reigning supreme, silver has finally taken the backseat to opulent, gleaming tones of gold when it comes to jewelry. Largely within the realm of yellow and rose gold hues are where the trend in gold jewelry largely rests, although the mixing of various shades of metals is still quite prevalent. For the most part, neatly placed crystal embellishment in thin, streamlined shapes is the new take on design, looking right at home when layering multiple pieces around necks, fingers, and wrists.
See above for some of my current favorites in gold jewelry, and hold onto that silver jewelry though, since as you know, these things tend to come in cycles.

Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of fringe gone wrong, very, very wrong. The material is off, the length is too short or long, or the thickness of the fringe isn’t right, which leads to a generally costumey, cheap look. No thanks! There is great potential with fringe, however, to look casually elegant and every day functional, it needs to be the perfect blend of on-trend colors and shapes, and a delicate balance of the flyaway stuff for the ultimate movement and chic factor. You can enjoy a fringe bag these days without feeling like a flower child; see above for some simple silhouettes that work the fringe look with precision and below for the details.

I’ve noticed a rise in stingray small leather goods in the past few years with that distinct, dotted textured extremely easy to identify. Recently, I’ve noticed that it’s made its way into jewelry, looking ultra slick and sophisticated in a cuff or wrap silhouette, and appropriate to pair with looks from all seasons. Personally I’m all for the faux version, but thought I’d share a variety of options that nonetheless are stunning, be it embossed with the textured stingray design or not. I’m also seeing a variety of color options, which are sure to emerge as more and more designers delve into experimenting with this look.

There’s no doubt that pearls have been experiencing quite the renaissance lately, being seen across all jewelry types and evening being reborn from a classic piece to something quite edgy! I’ve noticed that cuffs, mainly slender, have gained a pearl on each end, and this seems to be the latest, coolest, iteration of pearl jewelry. Personally, I really like this trend, as it has versatility in blending with bangles, cuffs, and bracelets both large and small, and gives you a sampling of pearls without over doing it. See my collage above for some of my favorites, and the links below for where to buy them.
