Illustrate This: MiMi by Sorrelli for Fall 2011 is Seeing Spots, Scales, & Shine!

In the past, Molly Schafer has graciously shared her artistic talents with Fashion Pulse Daily via her Versace and FlowerbyKenzo works, and again lends us her talent to imaginatively create two illustrations revolving around jewelry pieces from the MiMi by Sorrelli fall 2011 collection. The eye-catching jewelry is beautifully complimented by a cheetah who is compelled to don the Swinging Mirrors Bib Necklace, while our reptile friend fancies to slither herself into the Emerging Planes Mirror Cuff.
About the MiMi by Sorrelli Fall 2011 Collection: “Abstract metals and futuristic forms for the modern fashionista,” defines the most recent collection, comprised of sturdy cuffs, statements necklaces, pyramid, geometric pieces, and more. Now several seasons in, MiMi by Sorrelli encompasses a vibrant, fashion-forward, statement-making approach to jewelry, chock full of coveted items to
About the illustration: Freelance Illustrator Molly Schafer loved the geometric patterning of the Mimi by Sorrelli Gaia Collection; in fact, it reminded her of the patterning found on both fur and scales in the animal kingdom.
A big thanks to Lily and Rebecca at Sorrelli for taking part in this design collaboration, and to Molly Schafer for her incredible vision and talent.

Loehmann’s is Your “Designer Duds at Amazing Prices” Destination

I was lucky to be one of a handful of bloggers invited to a private event at Loehmann’s in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, where we checked out select designer looks, got fashion advice and tips from Felix Mercado – style expert who also pens shutupandwearit.com,and got to shop the store, courtesy of Loehmann’s! I’ve been coming to this exact Loehmann’s since I was a junior at New York University; it’s perfecet for the stylish guy or gal on a budget! The merchandise is so neatly laid out that it doesn’t feel like I’m shopping anywhere else but at a high-end specialty store, and the brands offered support that vibe — all at discounted prices, of course. On this particular trip, I indulged in a pair of earrings, a top by French Connection, and a few pieces by Vivienne Tam. If you’re in the NYC area, put Loehmann’s on your shopping list; you can also schedule an appointment with a personal shopper; a gratis service provided by the store.
Check out the video of us blogger gals shopping the store, and see below for pics of me shopping, chatting with Felix, and meeting the best surprise of the night – style icon Iris Apfel, who is an avid Loehmann’s shopper and currently has a line of fabulous jewelry and accessories at HSN, as well as an upcoming makeup collection for winter 2011 with MAC Cosmetics.
