Support Relief Efforts In Japan!
With the recent Earthquake & Tsunami tragedy in Japan, many organizations, businesses, and individuals are jumping at the chance to lend a hand with the relief; now you can too with a simple purchase made from the following designers and brands. Assouline Publishing will donate 50% of its profits from the tome In Light of Tokyo, a tribute collection of photographs inspired by Tokyo’s landscape, to the relief efforts.
Shop online at Josie Natori, and 10% of sales will be donated to the Red Cross through April.
All proceeds from Phillip Lim’s March showroom sample sale will go to benefit the American Red Cross’s aid efforts – shop March 24th-25th to participate (located at 260 West 39th Street in NYC).
Brooks Brothers has created a Customer Giving Campaign from which 100 percent of donations will go directly to the American Red Cross recovery and relief efforts. In addition, the Brooks Brothers Golden Fleece Foundation will match donations dollar for dollar up to $50,000.
UNIQLO via their parent company, Fast Retailing has pledged 700 yen worth of clothing to disaster victims, and has set up monetary donation drop boxes throughout retail locations. With these easy ways to donate to the relief effort in Japan, there are plenty of options to help do your part. After all caring IS always in fashion.

Go International Designer Collective is Here!
Interested in Proenza Schouler, Libertine, Paul & Joe, Thakoon, Jovovich-Hawk, Erin Fetherston, and more for $50 and under? Now’s your chance!

I’ve had to keep mum on this collection for sooo long, having gone to the press preview in November, and can now announce that the Go International Designer Collective at Target has finally hit stores and online (as of March 13th). Hurry and shop, as sizes and styles are already selling out! My favorites? I sheepishly admit that I already own a few pieces that have been re-released as part of this limited-edition dress collection, featuring 17 designers and 35 dresses. The pieces that I did purchase (thanks to a gift card, compliments of Target) Richard Chai for Target® Tuxedo Dress in Navy, $44.99, Rodarte for Target® Lace-Print Dress in Black/Tan, $39.99, and the Proenza Schouler for Target® Palm-Print Gauze Dress in Purple/Pink, $39.99. Prices range from $25-$50 for the collection, which you should take advantage of — second chances don’t come around all that often!

Celebrity Chic on the Cheap: Lake Bell is Cropped and Cute (CollegeCandy Guest Post)
[Welcome to Celebrity Chic on the Cheap, where our style guru takes a celebrity look and breaks it down for you, our poor college fashionista. What does that mean? It means that while the celebrities (or trying-to-come-back celebrities, like J-Lo) are spending $5,000 and more on an ensemble, you an spend way less…and save the rest for Margarita Mondays.]
Lake Bell isn’t exactly an A-list actress, although she has been working steadily for almost a decade (most recently, you may have seen her being hilarious in No Strings Attached). However, she is definitely A-list in the fashion world, as her red carpet style has been garnering her tons of accolades for the past few years. She has a reputation for having a quirky style that is different from a lot of other starlets around her age. And I like quirky.
